ENVIRONMENTAL HANDLING FEES (EHFS) / ECO FEES
Waste Management in Canada:
Canada, except Nunavut, has legislation that requires a fee when electronic products are delivered to customers. Collecting and remitting these fees to the regulator is the responsibility of the reseller. Essentially, the fee is a prepayment for environmentally sound disposal of the product when it reaches end-of-life status.
Recycling Programs
The fees we collect are used to support recycling initiatives. This keeps e-waste out of Canada's landfills and incinerators. Our recycling processes are effective in recovering materials such as aluminium, brass, copper, glass, iron, plastic, and steel. These materials are then processed and supplied to a variety of manufacturers as raw materials.
We also ensure the safe extraction and disposal of harmful compounds such as lead, cadmium, mercury and PVC plastics. We do this in accordance with strict environmental and health regulations. This approach protects the environment and supports public health and safety
